29/08/06 Portsmouth News - 'Louise top in a man's world'

MD proud of talented team at car bodyshop Banburys, reports JEREMY DUNNING.
Car bodyshop firm Banburys is so proud of its work that it wants more people to know about what it does. The firm has been run by Louise Dominy for the past three years, during which time the firm has gained a prestigious accreditation mark.
It is now recognised by Jaguar and Land Rover as approved bodyshop for those marques, but will do work on any make or model, such as the Mini.
Miss Dominy is a rarity in her trade and admitted it was still a man's world - but she had now become accepted within this industry.
Initially she said some customers wouldn't speak with her but now with more women owning prestige marques, such as Jaguars, it was easier.
Banburys has been based at Matrix Park, Segensworth South, for three years and has a turnover of about £400,000 a year. And now the firm of nine people is entering The News Business Excellence Awards in the small business category.
Miss Dominy said she was entering to show other people how well the firm was doing and how good business was, indicated by a high customer satisfaction rate.
She said: 'We get audited on an annual basis and this year we achieved 100 per cent on our audit. This made a lot of difference because Jaguar is running a bodyshop of the year competition. To get maximum points you have to achieve a 100 per cent audit and you have to submit critical data on time and have evidence of customer satisfaction indicators.'
'Every one of our customers fills out a form and by having evidence you get awarded points.'
'Our growth in business is due to our advertising and marketing and we've got a website, which not many bodyshops have.'
